Anybody know any playgroups in Worcester park?

Have you looked for a copy of the Famiy Grapevine in the library? It's a free 1/4ly A4 magazine

have yu checked dout Mumsnet? they have lists of things like that. the library tends to have information and mags around in the kids section too.

are Playgroups the same and P&T groups? Dp has gone to the one in North Cheam once and keeps saying hell go back but hasnt

I did get a list from the library but when I called the groups no longer exist as the list is so old.

I ment parent and toddler groups or somewhere you can take the children and meet other mums.

We moved last year so we are still finding our feet.

I think Tatantula means netmums, not mumsnet

Have you been to the story time at the library. I think its on Thursday mornings for the little uns.
The Joseph Hood Memorial park in Motspur Park is also very friendly tho its getting a bit cold for that now (If you go to the bottom of Green lane and walk down the lane way past the horses you get to the park and its a nice walk for the kids). There is an indoor place there too (cheeky monkeys??) but not sure if thats open now.

i dont live in wp, but if you can get into sutton, i think its the 154, o rmight be the 151 and the 213 will both tak you to sutton.
salvation army at the bottom of sutton high street, in benhill avenue have one. dont know the timings,
the thomas wall centre. also on benhill avenue.
st pauls church in cheam have one monday and tuesday morning. thats a very nice one. on the roundabout in northey avenue. bit of a trek from cheam village though.
in cheam village the baptist church, by the library has one i think on a tuesday, but not sure.
sutton libraries all have very good story times.

family focus, a support group for famlies with children undrr five meets on wed and thursday at the pavillion in the park called the bowls on sutton common road. near lower morden. if you are interested, let me know and ill dig up their number.
i think cheam leisure centre does various toddler activities as well.

oh yeah thats right Cheam Leisure centre has a toddler soft play session one day a week.

Have you checked out stuff in New Malden too as thats quite easy to get to. they have a toy library which is open one day a week too.

Actually this is a great thread cos Ive got to get some stuff together for dp to do with dd now the days are getting colder. She spent most of the summer in Nonsuch/Cheam Park or that park in New Malden.

Hi zoeb - posted on the other thread but there are loads in new malden which is easy to get to from Worcester Park....

I'm nearer the Malden end of worcester park and I don't drive and to make matters worse I have a double pushchair which is a nightmare to get on a bus!!! I don't think it could get any worse!!

There's one a malden manor primary school if that's a bit nearer ? ALso I think someone has said there are events on at the WP library so this might be a good start. also, doesn't the Kindercafe have various things on during the week ?

Whilst you're on the subject of cheeky monkeys - from what age would you say it is suitable ?

I live in Malden end of WP and take my daughter to Little Voices music in Worcester Park Library (next to Waitrose) on Saturday mornings. For under 4 years. Phone 07841565339 to speak to the woman who organises it. I think she also does classes through the week too, but I work 4 days.

She also does classes in Cheam, and is currently looking into starting Dancing to music classes too in either WP or Cheam for age 2.5+

Whilst off on maternity leave, I used to also take my kids to the Malden Library on Church Rd. They have some toys, so my youngest would play with those and look at books whilst my eldest could access the internet - CBEEBIES!

Both Librarys do reading sessions for various age groups. Good way to meet people if nothing else.

After having a bad accident years ago, I stopped driving for 7 years. I started driving again after my first child. I used to feel physically sick each time I knew I had to get in the car. If you have access to a car, I would defo recommend you try and learn, as it gets harder as the kids get older and attend various activites/parties. Now, 5 years on, I dont think twice about getting in the car.
