i am a stay at home mum and will be until my daughter goes to full time school.

However i would like my daughter to go to nursery at the age when she gets her free hours just to get her used to that environment before she has to go to school full time.

I have been looking round and there is one school in my area which i would really like her to attend, however i have a friend whos daughter applied last year and didnt get in.

I live in sefton, merseyside and was wondering how many nurseries i was actually allowed to apply for.. how i go about it and when she will start?

she will be 3 at the end of march next year.

are you talking pre-school or private nursery? if it's pre-school call them and get on the list now, popular pre-schools have people putting their names down since birth! however if it's good pre-school they should be fair and give at least one session to everyone, but it you want more you will have to apply and wait and see when the sessions are allocated.

however if it's private nursery there should be no problem.

for both you can apply for however many you want but I would get on with it ASAP.

But here where we live going to the pre-school does not guarentee a place at the primary school, the primary schools admissions policy is siblings first then distance, check out your local authorities policy.
