POPAT - reading method - any info ?

Last time I started a thread on Biff & Chip it threw up a huge debate. Hopefully this isn't as controversial... does anyone know of info on the POPAT method of teaching reading. I've Googled but can't find a specific website (ideally one with the pictures on it)
After DSs first parents evening I found out that this is how they are being taught at school & would like to follow it up at home

You could ask on the TES (Times Educational Supplement) website, as there are lots of knowledgeable posters there. I've heard it mentioned but I don't know what it is.
