Scottish System - Heard about out of catchment request yet?

Hi there, this is my first time on here, can't believe I've not been before! My twin sons are due to start Primary School in August and I am an absolute bag of nerves! We live slightly outside the catchment area for the school we want them to go to. They've attended the ajoining nursery school for the past 2 years and adore their friends there. Has anyone had any contact re. out of catchment request schools being full and having to appeal yet? I've heard nothing either way and don't know if this is good or bad! So so desperate to know now. Pauline :-)

Thanks toothlessthenightfury, hope you get in too. butterfly1968 I just replied to your thread. It's horrible. Really hope you can appeal. We're in Edinburgh and I contacted the Council who've confirmed we'll get letters after 21st April. Can't stand the wait! All the best to you both

butterfly I would appeal and appeal again if need be. Friends of ours were refused their out of catchment and appealed and got in.

Sometimes the schools seem to be testing to see how much fuss parents will make.

If she already has a sibling there they would have to make a pretty good case not to let your younger child attend the same school.

I agree! Don't be downheartened - stay strong and keep trying. I'm going to big time if we don't get in!
