Hi, are there any mums that could help me I need your views on 'st catherines rc school' colehill, can you reccomend it? I am not very familiar with the area yet but have 2 children that could start here after easter -reception class and kindergarten, but I need to be sure, so please can anyone tell me what it is like. Is it nice and friendly where children are happy and develop good friendships this is the most important thing. I know they have good results. Or do you know of any good really nice schools in Ferndown or Colehill areas please would be really helpful, thanks.

Hi, I don't know the school well, but moved to Dorset 9 years ago and have hardly heard a bad word about any of the state schools (and then its 'why does the school not let us know when afters chool clubs are going to be cancelled?' not anything much worse).

It is a first school not a primary (Dorset has the wonderful 3 tier system (I have 3 kids in it a the moment - delighted with their education) so YR - Y4, then transfer to middle school Y5 - Y8, then upper (your upper school will be QE Wimborne which is a great school).

I did a little work with the school (one morning 'healthy lunchbox workshop') a couple of months ago. Kids were delightful, staff were helpful, friendly, engaged, enthusiastic. Enviroment looked good.

I don't know where you are moving from but Dorset is fantastic place to be with a family and the schools here are great. The LA demands exceptional standards but not at the expense of the children's real education.

Good luck
