Bilingual/translated picture books? Where?

was reading the gruffalo to my DD just now, and (due to slight Dora obsession) she wanted me to read it in Spanish Hmm

Any idea where I can get translated versions of Children's books like that? I searched on amazon and the only one was £32! WTF?!

Ask your local library. Mine has bilingual childrens books.

Library.

Or if you want to buy, Mantra Lingua. Lots of the bilingual books in our library are from there.

Thanks yes I really should get back to the library - haven't been for ages Blush I've only noticed Hebrew/Urdu books there, but I could ask if there's any Spanish (or French) ones as at least I'd be vaguely good at reading them!

I think DD will only be interested if they are stories she already knows IYSWIM!

I have bought French books from amazon.fr. I guess you could go on the Spanish site and order from there.

There is no Spanish Amazon site.
Try eBay (still much cheaper than Casa del Libro. (www.casadellibro.com/)

Try Grant and Cutler - I think you can order online.

or Usborne do language books for primary age and I know you can get them on amazon.

The library, I was delighted to discover!

FreudianSlippery · 20/03/2011 16:38

Thanks I'll check those out. Found gruffalo on amazon.fr at great price but guess postage would be high! Am delighted DD is interested though so it's worth persuing :)

Try Bay Language Books, www.baylanguagebooks.co.uk, they do over 700 languages including childrens's book

Thanks all I've found Gruffalo in French for a good price so I'll get that instead of Spanish - it'll be a good way to introduce a new language. And I'll be able to read it more easily :o
