I wasnt sure where to post this, but maybe someone with university children can advise. My DD is doing a course in Paediatric Nursing and in London. She wants to transfer to a more local hospital and course to home, especially now she is seriously going out with a young man who is local to here.

Is there any possibility of a transfer in her 3rd year , which will be this coming Sept?
I my self have no idea. She has e mailed a few addresses to find out.
Any one with any experience of this please?

Extremely unlikely tbh. Most universities count the work done in second year towards final degree classifications and different institutions may have different course requirements for those years.

I used to work in a student advice centre and only came across 1 case where it was permitted in very exceptional circumstances, and that wasn't on a course which led to professional registration.

Can she not cope with 1 more year?

Very unlikely, most transfers are in year 1 or beginning of year 2.

Education is more important than boyfriend. If it is serious it will last another year.

Nursing courses might be different - could she just ask the institution she'd like to transfer to ?

It is very unlilely she'll get a transfer in her 3rd year. Her grades in the second year will go towards her grades in the final year
