The 'official' Jolly Phonics dvd on sale in Amazon has awful reviews. Is there a suitable alternative?

Not suggesting an alternatice, sorry, just seconding how bloody awful said DVD is - could have been done SOOO much better; unfortunately DD loves it.

It really is the most terrible DVD, but for some reason my DS thinks it's great also!

The sound quality on ours is also poor, so much so I thought I'd bought a pirate copy (if it wasn't for the fact it came from ELC). Its like watching something made in the 1970's with very obvious wires that operate the 'characters'.

The CD is so much better, if only I could stop singing that bloody 'A, A, Ants on my arm'...

The DVD is old - not quite 70s - so it looks dated (have to say I hated it when it first came out and it hasn't grown on me) children do like it but it isn't really essential viewing

Not jolly phonics but the alphablocks on cbeebies is quite good and my dd likes playing on the website too. We have the jolly phonics cd in the car brought by me in mad moment of alpha-parenting drives me up the wall but dds love it..
