Calling all gifted kids in and around Edinburgh. New groups starting so kids can get together with their parents. If you have a child who has been assessed by a child psychologist as gifted with a high IQ then I'd love to hear from you. Please contact me at [email protected].

Euphemia - not sure what you're trying to get at but I think this is why we're trying to get a group together. Look up the NAGC site for your information.

Euphemia (like me) thinks this is a parody thread. NObody would seriously arrange their children's social lives around the supposed intelligence level of said chilren.. surely...

NAGC is an excellent resource for parents! The city we lived in previously (US) had a support group for parents of profoundly gifted children. It's a great idea. Good luck to you.

I just looked on the NAGC website. They've graphed giften children and it looks as though there may be plans for federal funding for them. Let me guess.. knowing the U.S the gifted children are going to be mostly white?

Ok so Euphemia, what about a child who works say 6 years above their level at school, who tries hard to be sociable with kids their age but struggles to relate to others when they are on a different wavelength. Maybe they get bullied. Maybe they feel alone. Wouldn't it be great if once a month, say, they could meet likeminded kids?

Now do you think it's so stupid?

I don't have a dc in that situation but if I did I can see this could be really valuable. Stop mocking.

Thankyou namechangesgalore. That's exactly why we are trying to set up a group. I'm really glad that there is some understanding out there.
