target setting days

does anyone else have these?
I never think they are worth attending - a bit of a paper exercise - am i being cynical?

My son 13 has target setting days but they seem a waste of time to me.

do you have to attend, at high school here parents don't need to go but have to go for juniors and infants. If you don't attend your child is marked with an unauthorised abscene
