Just get pissed first. It'll seem really interesting then and you'll feel like you know everything and are being really profound and everything.

codface · 18/10/2005 14:00

what is a tlrs?

roisin · 18/10/2005 17:06

What stage are you at with TLRs? (We're nearing end of first consultation phase, time-scale is quite tight to get it implemented.)
What about workforce reform? Is everyone getting their 10%? They should be by now.

We have draft staffing structure up for consultation. Hope you have governors who have had some proper training on this as this is a stinker for some schools where lots of people late on in their careers have management points which might not be translated into TLRs which at the end of the safeguarding will mean a drop in their pension. Heads really need the critical friend on this one cos some unscrupulous ones will duck and dive. Union advice is very useful for Governors.

we haev just consulted adn are trying hard to squeeze it all in really
small school so not to hard.

How was the meeting codface?

Have you looked here

I might be able to help if you've got any specific questions, I'm a governor and work in my LEA school finance section.

Had our first TLR meet last week. My dds 2ndary school seems to be doing things fairly. We had no problems with the proposed structure, so its gone out to consultation. However, I know of one local 2ndary that isn't giving TLR's to 2nd in departments and they are not happy, unions involved etc.
