Sandroyd School?

Moving into the Salisbury area in June 2011 and looking for a traditional prep school with boarding. Did not like Port Regis - too big!

Friend told me about Sandroyd. Can anyone tell me a little more about it? Quality of teaching/teachers etc..

Thank you so much

the current head of Leaden Hall used to be our head. Lovely person.

Thanks for the tip, but I have a 10 year old son and want more of a country school for him. no traffic, just fields, fresh air and a good education

Sandroyd is a good school (had a nephew there recently). Good all round teaching and a reasonable scholarship record.
Have you thought about Forres Sandle Manor?

I have a nephew there at the moment and his older brother left a couple of years ago, they both did well. Both have completely different personalities but they were both happy there.

Forres Sandle Manor have a couple of open days very soon. Def worth a vist if you are in the area.

Very very outdoorsy and v good educationally.

Recent ofsted report was outstanding.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I am having a tour of Sandroyd next week and will give you my feedback. I don't really like the idea of open days - everyone is on show and they know it.

I like the schools who offer a 'trial day' where your DS can make up their own mind without any pressure.

I just wanted/need a little more 'info' about Sandroyd - as to be honest it ticks many of our 'must have' boxes.

Good luck.

FSM do trial days too. I wouldn't rule it out.

We know people at Sandroyd and they are v happy with it.

How did your tour go? Am a big fan of Sandroyd, it is a really magical school and sounds perfect for you having read your priorities. Children get huge amounts of fresh air and it has a really happy feel about it. Excellent teaching, great ethos, I really can't fault it.
