Finding 11+ tutor for DS

Having spend the last few months looking around secondary school in N/NW London we have come to the mind twisting and slightly daunting conclusion to tutor our DS (currently Y5 in popular state primary) for a place at UCS in Hampstead (DS & my favorite) and possible Habs Boys, Merchant Taylor and Queen Elisabeth Grammar - though the school journey would be more difficult for these.

DS is academic enough (top of class maths and a great story teller/creative writer) but not sure how to figure out where he is at for sitting the 11+ entry at either of these schools.
As he is the oldest and no-one else we know is considering this route I am a bit at a loss finding a tutor for him, hoping to have one recommended here that would be familiar with the entry exam process and requirement for UCS particularly.

Hoping for some friendly tips/advise, thanks.

Home Tutors in Muswell Hill - A tutors coop

www.londonhometutors.org/

They will have people experienced with all the schools you mention.

Tis a while since I did my 11+ Wink but when I did, it was more about technique and question 'types' rather than tutoring. So I just did loads of practice papers with my parents as they were more IQ test style questions than knowledge.

Don't know if it's different now or if entrance exams are different but it was all sequences, similes etc. Suppose what I'm trying to say is that any tutor who has experience of 11+ will be able to help - is the 11+ not the same everywhere?

Ask schools for sample papers. We found that they gave these out when you were registered to take the exam.

Thanks all for replies, I'll give the London home tutors a ring
and @ Chessy I think you're probably right , it's just a question of us getting started now.

Did ask UCS for sample paper which was a no but maybe I'll try again when registering for exam.

Much appriciated advice.
