Does anyone have children at grasemere primary school in stoke newington? I am looking to move house my son is is 17 months and we want to move close to a good school in stoke newington. I have been researching and St. Marys and Grasemere seem to be the two top schools....does anyone have any experience of these schools? of experiences of other schools which are good in stoke newington?

I don't, but it seems lovely (we are v close but didn't get a place) It is very white and middle-class though. (St Mary's also meant to be good, but not white and middle-class, and only takes thsoe who fulfil church requirements) Look at the Learning Trust primary education booklet for distances they have taken pupils from recently - it's around 0.1 miles for Grasmere.

We looked around Grasmere but was put off by the intake, as misskeith mentions. Just wasn't worth the extra £££ for a catchment property either.

^^ they do not wear uniform 'tis true but they do have sats! If they are not listed for last year, then they didn't participate due to the protest - they have been listed every year whilst I have had kids in school in Stoke Newington.

Betty Layward is also perceived to be a good school and does have a uniform.

From what I know, Lauriston is also a good school.

Grazebrook is on the up...

I guess it all boils down to what you are looking for.
