Maybe this will change with the Englich Bacc., but currently the secondaries around me are good except for in the MFLs that seem to have gone by the wayside. The only option there is French and it isn't aren't mandatory.
However, there are a lot of at-home options these days and the Council is willing to allow 16-18 year olds to take language classes in a wide range of language for free at the Adult Education programmes (of particularly interest to eldest is BSL, which there is no GCSE for yet anyways, but is also looking at the other 8 languages available quite happily) which give a qualification.
Which would you reccommend?
