My dd1 went up to do the residential tests.
I am just wondering if anyone else has been through it all?

If you mention you are considering boarding school on here you will get flamed by 90% of the posters - you have been warned!!!

Did you know CH have an unofficial forum? Just google it - really helpful and informative though not hugely busy HTH

Did your DD get in? I thinkm I remember having a similar conversation wityh you a few years ago?

I dont care what anyone has to say. It will be the best thing for my DD. She is being failed by her primary, she will be failed by the shite secondaries near us.
Bring it on do gooders!

I think CH is in a different league to most of the rest of the boarding schools. Personally, boarding wouldn't be for us but I think the CH's reasons for boarding are entirely understandable and acceptable. Best of luck.

Though didn't I read on MN that they're accepting day pupils this year?

CarGirl · 08/01/2011 20:37

Yes they are taking in day pupils (as they have in the past) as they school is run on income from investments and they have had to spend a lot of money on revampin all the boarding houses they are not in a great financial position.

They have also increased the amount of spaces to full fee paying students, again as a temporary measure. Additionally they have changed the way the assess income for fee - sadly this has come about as a result of parents trying to manipulate the system Hmm, in general I think they have introduced better and fairer assessment.

CAR GIRL.
My DD got a place.
We are all very excited for her.
Is there anything that we should be prepared for that the school may not tell us?

Ronshar- there is something you need to tell your DD. This is important.

She will have to wear yellow socks....!

ronshar · 25/02/2011 11:18

SHH. I haven't mentioned the socks and so far she hasn't noticedGrin
