Can I reasonably expect my 18 mo daughter to say please and thankyou with any consistency?

Nope.

LucyJones · 29/09/2005 22:43

my 18 month old still has no words so definitely wouldn't be understanding please and thank you!

aloha · 29/09/2005 22:54

no.

marthamoo · 29/09/2005 23:27

No. Ds2 (almost 4) still needs prompting. Ds1 has just about got the hang of it...he's nearly 9

Keep prompting, yes - but she'll be forgetting for a long time yet.

QueenOfQuotes · 29/09/2005 23:28

in a word - No

DS2 is now 22 months, and is only just 'talking' - haven't managed to get a "thankyou", "ta" "thanks" or anything similar out of him AT ALL yet, and nowhere near on "please" either,
