Watching with interest as I have a year 9, I know what levels he has but I have no idea what he's supposed to be at.

I too am confused.

DS is in Y7 and has a wide range of grades, but apparently grades are not comparable form subject to subject. Confused

For example he has a 3b in art, but a 5a in English. Which initially I thought meant he was atrocious at art, but apparently not. Hmm

I have no idea what it does mean, though.

Have they not mentioned 'target grades' at all? We've been given an idea of those for most of DDs subjects. She's yr7 and they do vary a lot between subjects - from 3s for new subjects like Spanish, then for maths/english similar or just above their actual yr 6 levels so 5/6s up to 6/7 for science Confused

WE have target grades for Maths and English only....I don't get how Music and Art are not comparable grades.

DS tells me the highest grade possible in Drama was 4a.
