hello charlie95.

i have a ds who was home educated earlier this year for 2 months due to problems at school.
it was very enjoyable, he went back to school because the problems were eventually sorted out, however it looks like they are starting again.

So dh and myself have made a decision to wait until half term and if they are no better to take him out for good.

it is legal in this country because it is the parents responsibility to make sure their children get educated whether at school or at home.
there are a lot of websites to look at and things like your local library, museums, galleries all at times that are quiet and even a shopping trip to the supermarket is considered a maths lesson!
are you thinking of doing this?
i would highly recommend it i know 6 children who are home educated and they are the most nicest polite happy kids i have ever met(3 different families not the same one)
keep us posted

charlie95 - there was a long thread recently about home ed. Can?t remember the thread title - something about resenting school having their child for such a big chunk of each day and turned into a very supportive thread about considering home ed. Might be worth searching for it - or maybe someone else can remember the title.
Are you considering it as an option for your own family?

ds sn is in obs class attached to mainstream.
but been recommended to go to special school. no room there til next sept. meanwhile not happy in obs class. not benefitting him in any way cos they keep telling us what hes not doing, what he wont do and whats wrong with him. every week.very insensitive of them although not told them that yet that weve had enough of all this.
