Everyone is a member (and we're a "Friends of [ ] school" rather than a PTA). I've helped where I can but I work parttime and also have a younger child so can't go to all the meetings.

I've found the others welcoming and they seem relieved someone else is interested in helping out TBH. I run stalls at fetes and fold raffle tickets and wrap presents - anything really. I just told them to call me if they need some help and if I'm not working I do!

We're like Kbear - everyone a member and we're a Parents' Social Association. I've just joined the committee this year as the meetings are now at a time I can go whereas in the past it's been difficult.

OTOH, I have always helped e.g. doing stalls the events held, even though not on the committee.
