Can I ask why you want to know?

ForMashGetSmash · 25/10/2010 21:53

Yes...why? Also...I am Mum with 2 daughters and none of what you list appeals...plus I sightly resent the inference that "girls" like different music to men.

We like rock and folk.

"femle friendly" probably won't go down a storm on here.

TamsinTiger · 25/10/2010 22:19

I am asking..because I have BEEN TOLD in no uncertain terms that this is what the over 30s female demographic want hear on their radio..I disagree and like a lot of diversity on my radio and do not want to be dismissed as a Take That Fan etc..

I would just appreciate your comments..I am just someone who has an interest in a better radio listening experience for me and my children..I have nothing to gain or lose , and have no vested interest...

"I have BEEN TOLD in no uncertain terms that this is what the over 30s female demographic want hear on their radio"

Well TELL THEM in no uncertain terms that 'demographic' radio is the most boring thing on earth and I don't listen to it voluntarily. I abhor playlist radio with its very restricted range - we have it on at work and you can practically predict which record comes next. Pop music has produced hundreds of records a week, every week, for the last fifty years so why do they only play the same twenty songs? Yawnsville.
Did they not take notice when the populace overthrew last year's X-factor force-fed pap for something a bit more spiky and different for Christmas?

Why is this in the Education topic?

TamsinTiger · 26/10/2010 18:14

Thankyou, for your responses ..

Oh I do not know why I put this in the Ed Topic..I think probably, because I do love music and want my children to know that Radio can be a means to deliver that without patronising a female demographic..I know that there are other stations but the fact that global and Heart are now putting out of business..smaller and more interesting local stations ..means that if I need the travel..I also have to listen to the music and so do my children...

And thankyou, Senua..I will tell them !!..but need some evidence to back myself up..you see the programmers are middle aged men in their 50s mostly..and my goodness they can be very bullying!

Please help by continuing with your feedback..

Thankyou X

I loved JAZZ fm. And then it became something depressingly similar to the radio station with the playlist above.
