Do you display the appropriate NLS framework descriptors for each lesson? If so, how do you do this? Do you just write them up on the board?

Just to bump this for you a bit.

Not very helpful or relevant but I always write my lesson aims (taken from the ks3 SOW/GCSE specification but put in 'pupil speak' ) in the corner of the board at the start of each lesson. I get the kids to copy this down as soon as they enter the class while I take the register....this calms them down and helps then to organise their work. I leave the aims up and will tick them off as we meet them. And if I have the time(!) it refer back to them at the en of the lesson.

Noooooooooooooooooo - it'd take you all day to get this organised into your practical lesson!!! With the schemes of work we have at our school, the lit objecs are on the week-by-week short-term planning sheets for our info. You can then build them into each lesson you plan, but the preferred method is to write the objective in pupil speak on the board - thses usually refer to the nat lit official objectives abut are accessible to the kids. Most of our boards now have the following printed at the top: "By the end of this lesson..." and then the teacher writes down what they plan to have achieved. HTH
