Sorry - seems silly to have to ask, but I'm trying to book a week's holiday in October, and want to avoid school holidays, so when is half term this year (my kids are not at school yet)

I know different places sometimes differ, but are there a couple of weeks that I should definitely avoid?
I'm in Surrey...

It's usually either the week before the clocks go back or the week after.

Hope that's clear (!)

(Clocks go back the last Sunday in October.)

Croydon starts the last Monday in October. SB34 should know when Surrey starts.

My school's half term (in Doncaster) is the very last week in October, starting back at the beginning of November. Best be anyway as I have booked a holiday for then

In Kent it's the same 27 October & back on 3 November

Derbyshire - last day of school is 17 October then off for one week, back to school 27/10.

Lucky you, Sue - you get the longer days for outings!

Lancs is the same as all the others here - w/c 27th.
