in year 4. I felt so sorry for him going off into school and not knowing anyone. He assures me he had a good day though and although no one sat next to him at lunch [horror emoticon] he did get to play cricket with a few of the lads

Aaah, Congratulations Jampots.
Don't they all sit together to have lunch?

well i would have thought so Blu. I think they're all in the hall - i suspect he means no one asked him to join them

honestly the trauma of being a "new mum" at school is too much. This morning the doors to the school were thrown open at just before 8.45 and the children started heading down towards them and went in. Ds did too then I looked at my watch and realised it seemed too early but of course by this time he had already gone into school (registration 8.55). So then I had a dilemma - what if he came back out for some reason? There was no one for me to hang out with/chat to pass the next 5-10 mins "just to be safe" so I had to leave. Its taking all of my effort to stop myself from calling the school to make sure he actually made it from the door to his classroom
