DD1 has always struggled with certain aspects of maths, she just doesn't enjoy the subject. Now school have 1:1 funding for 12 weeks for her and a few others. I knew she was struggling, but does it mean she is really bad? she is in yr5 BTW. Thnaks.

My middle school are doing this for a number of pupils and have done for a couple of years.

They have targeted the kids they think, with a little help, could get Level 4 in the year 6 SATS.

So it doesnt mean she is really bad IMO, just that they think with some 1:1, she could be bang on target!

It seems to really work, last year more than half targeted children ended up with Level 4.

One to One is targeted for children who aren't too far behind, and for whom the 10 weeks tuition is likely to make a difference (2 of the hours are for planning and preparation).
