grammar schools in bucks

we are leaving the busy city and moving out to south buckinghamshire.
as this is a big step for us we thought we would still want to be near to london so we are looking at the chalfonts and gerrards cross areas.
my oldest will be sitting the 11plus next autumn, which leads me to my question; does anyone have any info /experience of the grammar schools and the entry process in this area.
any information would be greatly appreciated.

www.rgshw.com/
Beaconsfield High School
sorry hopeless at links !
The royal grammar school in high wycombe is for boys and the high school is for girls. The catchment area is very strict for both so good luck.If you type "grammar schools in buckinghamshire "into your server they will give you some more choices. I live in high wycombe and my mil lives in little chalfont, its a lovely area to live.

I went to Wycombe High School but it was so long ago that the million foot high hedge of trees around it now was just a little line of shrubs when I was there! Sorry, jlimum, that's of no use to you at all!

thanks octavia and theprisoner, have spoken to the council who were suprisingly helpful and as the results have just come out that was also useful too but there is still nothing better than first hand experience! all info welcome!

Hausfrau - you young thing you! I'd had three children by 1989!! I left in 1976 (Merrick and Brown were there then too!)

Dr Challoners in Little Chalfont for Girls and Dr Challoners in Amersham are fab schools as is Chesham High School, The Misbourne in Great Missenden is also a very good school if they don't manage to get through the selection process. There are some excellent tuition books to help throught the process my daughter has just gone into year 5 so we will start with a little and often through the year to get her ready. The tests are verbal reasoning so there is a definate knack to answering the questions

I went to Dr Challoners before we moved to Wales! Mind you that was 25 years ago ! I loved it though

Hausfrau - we weren't even allowed to say the word "boy", let alone fraternise with them!
