GCSE and A Level results

Okay can I start a nice positive thread here?

I am so proud of my niece who gets her GCSE results today. I am also very pleased for the sons and daughters of friends who got their A Level results last week.

I am sick of the annual "oh these exams are easy" crap.

They might need changing but now is not the time for newspapers and education people to be debating it.

Why can't they just say "WELL DONE" to all these youngsters who have worked so hard to get their grades.

And another thing - isn't it right that they are doinbg well now. 20 years ago when you or I did A Levels we searched through librarys for hours to get information that is now available at the touch of a button - of course they are finding things easier.
Lets give these kids some credit for their achievements and just say WELL DONE to all of them.

Well done to all those getting exam results

She got all A to C passes including a "C" for Maths which she hates and was dreading so I am very, very proud of her - wish there was a "proud auntie" emoticon. so happy.

My niece got 7! She's so happy, cos she didn't think she would.

She's determined to work harder next year. We're so proud of her though. She's off out with her mates. All you can hear on the phone are screams of excitment. Happy day!

I'm so happy with DD1 who has been a very very difficult teenager.

She got 1 A*, 3 As, 4 Bs and a C.

Oh the relief, for both of us. She sounded ecstatic when she phoned.

Well done to all of them.

I agree with Aaragon - today is a day for celebrations. Well done to all who have passed. And to anyone who didn't do as well as tjey hoped, it isn't the end of the world even if it seems like it today (in my experiance)

Can I just say an extra special well done to your dd anorak. After everything she has been through she must be very proud of herself. You and dh must be bursting with pride

I'm really proud of dd1, she has got a B and 5 c's, she expected three c's. While she has been at secondary school her grandad has died, her parents have split up, we have moved house 4 times, never once of our choosing, and she has got a new stepdad(ok so he's wonderful, but it could have gone wrong!) So I think that I am justifiably proud of her!!

A woman in the same office as me told her daughter she was disgusted with her for getting the same results,

Well done to allthe others too!
