Help with afterschool care during first reception term

My daughter starts at St James Catholic School in Twickenham in September and for the first term they finish at 1150. What do families do for afternoon care, if previously, their child had been at a nursery school all day? Is a childminder my best option? Are there any childminders out there who would be available to pick her up from school and look after her, Monday - Thursdays?

We live in a totally different area, but have a similar issue - my DTDs will finish at 12 for the first 4 weeks.

The only way we can manage it is for DH to take half days throughout.

Hope you find a good solution.

Is she currently at nursery? If so and you can find someone to take her from school to nursery, you may find that they will keep her on for another term.

What are other parents planning to do? Can you share care with others?

A friend of mine had a daughter in the same class. She wasn't working, I was, so I paid her to take DS home with her daughter and have him until teatime - luckily the kids got on really well. I think that's technically illegal now without registering as a childminder but if it's a short term thing and you're desperate..... Some local nurseries did an early pick up for the first term for children in this situation but the nursery DS had been going to didn't so I preferred the friend option as it was only going to be for a term (as did DS).

I'm not sure if Jack & Jill on the Green will take them, give them a call as they do after school care for St James's. Local childminder but you will have to pay for the full day even when at school.

My baby is only going school nursery for 3 hours per day. I am at full time work and i’d Like to have someone who can pick up from St James Catholic Twickenham and take to the Den Greenacres after school club.
