What's Wellington College like, post Seldon?

We have been so inspired by Dr Anthony Seldon at Wellington College that we're sending our daughter there to board from next term and she feels really fortunate to be going.

Not knowing anyone there, we only have their website and a couple of visits to go by (all impressive). It would still be valuable to hear from anyone with contact there what the overriding peer pressure is like (is it social, academic, sporting?) and the quality of the pastoral care.

Friends ds is there. Think that he must be Year 10 by now. He is sporty and is thriving. Parents are v impressed although their ds2 is starting at Eton in September (though obv this was anticipated before ds1 started at Wellington).

Has Seldon gone? I ruled it out because I thought/think he is an utter prat and didn't want my children or us to have to suffer anymore of his waffle. I am going to keep a keen eye on who the new head is.

Lots of my son's friends going there this Sept with older brothers there as well. Now diffciult to get into. I think because of Seldon! Liked the deputy very much but she has now left.. I also heard Seldon speak on a number of occasions. I couldnt stand him, my DH thought he was wonderful, view from others is that the school is fairly laid back, happiness lessons, etc.
