I’m frustrated that I can’t buy loose fitting cotton PJ’s for my 7 month old son because the United States regulates the style of clothing I can buy.
He takes after his athletic dad and is very tall/ big for his age. He’s in 12 M clothing, but I can’t buy loose fitting cotton onesies in that size. I can only buy polyester or tight fitting (which are very uncomfortable and difficult to get on/ off). They say it’s due to the fire hazard of cotton. How about the hazards of flame retardants and plastics?!
Why do the powers that be make recommendations about lead in children’s products but regulate organic cotton products? !
Did you know only teethers are regulated for lead, and not other toys? All other toys have guidelines but no enforcement! Sad but true.
Plastics, painted toys, fabrics and fabric dye are all potentially dangerous. There is an app called “Skin Deep” for checking the toxicity of cosmetics and cleaning supplies. If anyone has a resource for toys or clothing let me know.
Thanks for listening. ❤️
