Acutally, this is more of a rant than a question, but I'd be interested to see if more experienced eBay sellers have had a similar problem.
Bit of background - I've bought plenty on eBay over the past few years, and have occasionally sold some bigger items (baby stuff like pram, cot etc) which I've listed as cash on collection only. I prefer this method so that there's no quibble with payment - buyer sees item, happy with it, pays cash, all done. I've been lucky enough never to have time wasters who decide they don't want it when they see it or start to haggle.
Anyway, back to last night when I had planned to take advantage of free listings day to clear out the rest of my baby stuff, again quite a few big items that I'd rather have cash on collection for. As soon as I started my first listing, I realised that eBay now insist you offer Paypal as an option - their reasons are fair enough I guess, though a bit cheeky as I resent paying eBay's commission then a bit extra to Paypal too when I'd rather not accept payment that way .
So I sigh, but carry on entering my items. I get a couple of items successfully listed, then halfway through entering my third item, a message pops up saying I can't complete my listing until I become Paypal verified. Bit now as I just want to get on with it, and wonder why I'm allowed to list two items but not three.
So I log in to Paypal, enter all my bank details etc and then a cheerful little message appears saying sorry, can't verify you using that bank account, as another user is already verified under those details. Well I knew that already, I'm married to him, it's my DH, who oddly enough I have a joint bank account with!!! But apparently one bank account can't be used to verify more than one user?
Am about to contact Paypal to see what I can do, having now missed Sunday's free listings and pretty frustrated that items I wanted to list at the same time will now be days apart (were matching items, or ones that I'd suggested bidders have a look at as well).
Rant over! Thanks for listening .Am I making this more complicated than it should be? Am I likely to be on hold for a while with Paypal?
