I sold an item on ebay.

It was a large item and in very good condition.

Only one part of it was broken.

I stated this clearly and took a photo (this one part can be replaced - they are on ebay)

So I sent the item,

the whole thing got lost by the courrier but was found (she could see by the tracking numebr it was psoted quickly but lost) and was delivered to her.

She was very nice about it going missing.

Anyways, she now says the broken piece isn't in there.

I know it was because I packed it and its not here!

So now I think she is just saying the piece is missing so she can dispute through paypal and make me replace the missing bit for a new one, giving her a fully working item!

WDYT?

Why did she want the broken bit at all? Might have to explain what item was!

EbayDilema · 05/06/2010 13:22

I don't want to say really as I've had a buyer (somehow!!) find me on here talking about an item once and got in a load of crap!

Lets pretend it was a highchair, then its the insert, with one clip on one side broken.

So it still clips in but on one side only.

You would only need to ring the company for a clip or buy a new insert.

But shes saying the 'insert' isn't in the box.

Ask her to return it for a full refund ie call her bluff

ASk for a photo of the packaging, has it got damaged and that item fallen out?

How much would it cost you to buy her the new bit? How much less did it sell for because of the broken bit?

CantSupinate · 05/06/2010 15:35

It might be best to suck it up and just buy the new/replacement broken part, unless it's quite expensive.

If you sell a lot on Ebay, it's worth it to keep your good feedback, usually, to provide that level of customer service (I halved my profits on a recent sale by doing this, btw, so I feel your pain!)
