Can I get royal mail to pick up parcels?

I have about 25 auctions ending each sunday, so I have 15 or so parcels to post on a Monday and no car (I load up the pram). I know a postman used to come to my work years ago every day and we didn't even always have something for him. Is that something that is really expensive and only for businesses?

I pay for my postage through paypal and just go to the office to get proof of postage.

It isn't a massive hardship to catch the bus with a pramful of small parcels, but obvioulsy it would be easier if I didn't have to, and what would happen it i was selling a large item?

You need to register with Royal Mail as a business account. Not sure what the charges are now but they will do it. You could phone their business services number.

Are these expensive items? Do you have many parcels go astray? A certain type of item seems to attract a certain type of customer iyswim. I decided after months of trawling to the PO with my parcels that would actually be worth not bothering with POP and risk maybe losing a fiver or so and just popped them in the nearest post box - never had a problem and saved so much time. Out of approx 600 parcels only ever lost 2 (and one of them I was a bit luckily I did have POP for that 1)
