would someone please tell me the best way to courier a double buggy? I no longer have the original boxes etc and have a side by side Skywalker Duo that someone in Austria is wanting to buy

having never sold a double buggy on ebay (its on as local pick up only) and certainly never couriered one to Austria I don't know where to start

lots of (strong) bin bags and brown tape - you can even rip up other cardboard boxes if you have them and tape them around it for padding. I was always worried about shipping large items on ebay until I worked out the brown tape and strong bin bags method. I checked with my post office and they are fine with it.

can I send a double buggy abroad by royal mail? I thought it would have to be a courier

Oh I see, yes you can send abroad by any way you wish doesn't have to be a courier. Can you manage to weigh it ? I do this by weighing myself and then weiging myself holding the large item and working out the difference.

Then you can use the postage checkers on ebay, (choose 'sell an item' then click 'work out postage and packing' on the right hand side) for to see which one is more suitable. If you use parcelforce worldwide they will collect the item from your address the same as other couriers. Or you have the option to drop it at the post office.

The person who is bidding should (hopefully this is what they are doing) check the price with you before they bid because it's going to cost a fair bit going abroad.

Just a btw for large items within the U.K parcelforce do a special deal for ebayers, anything up to 30kg for 11.99 within 24 hours but you have to buy the postage online through paypal. It's good to know that when you are buying things from anyone and they want to charge more.

Oh and you are allowed to say 'no - the item is pick up only' You don't have to ship it.

If they have already bid without checking the postage price first make sure you add on extra for the packing and your trouble since it was listed as pick up only.
