How often do you relist an item for sale?

Especially if it is free to list, eg an item of clothing under 99p. Can you theoretically carry on listing it until it sells? Do you? Or do you have a set number of times you relist something after which you get rid of it another way?

I always relist just once - if it doesn't sell 2nd time round I get rid of it elsewhere (usually freecycle)

relist once (occasionally twice) then item goes to charity shop

It always surprises me what sells and what doesn't! I never used to list any High Street kid's clothing on eBay, but recently have managed to shift stuff which has been to 2 or 3 NCT sales and remained unsold. I did have a big clearout and sent a lot of dross to dd's school's textile recycling bin, but anything which was in really good condition I have hung on to. When you have listed once, it doesn't take any more effort to re-list, and no cost if it is at 99p. Some sales are just a matter of the right buyer coming along at the right time, and it may take a bit of time for that to happen.

I make a point of never listing anything I would not want to buy myself. Anything even slightly suspect I take to the charity shop or recycle. When buying, I don't look for designer stuff either. I only want to buy decent high street stuff.

So I know all my stuff is good quality. I am just not sure how long to keep waiting for someone like me to come along and buy it!

I am also very particular what I list on eBay. In fact I am probably too keen to point out any little imperfection, but I feel that if buyers are depending on your photo and description they have to be very honest. I can think of a couple of instances when buyers left feedback along the lines of "very nice item, better than described". NCT sales are different, though, as people can see and feel the clothes before making up their mind.

Normally re-list 3 times then either put it back in the cupboard to try again some other time or i charity shop it.

Twice maybe and then I charity shop it too.

Like you Dumbledore and PF, I am very particular about what I sell. I have bought before from ebay but have pretty much given this up recently as I've always been a bit disappointed as to the stuff I've bought.

Perhaps my standards are too high for ebay
