A mini ebay rant, just nod and humour me....

Auction ended on Friday....
Buyer paid Sunday evening. I saw payment had been made on Monday afternoon. Packaged up, took to PO on Tuesday. Here (Italy) we get 3 day packages and 1 day packages. Buyer had chosen to pay for 3 day package. I sent it.
Tuesday evening I got first email. Has this package been sent yet? I confirm it has, by 3 day delivery.
He's now been on again (this being the 3rd day since I posted, so it will undoubtedly arrive today) Why hasn't it arrived? What am i going to do? Am I going to refund half of his money?
WTF?
Oh- and in the middle of all this, he emailed to ask if I had any other Thomas stuff on sale. I told him no, but gave him a list of websites where Thomas stuff is cheaper than over here. I got a one word reply "OK".

I don't like people like that. They're vvvvvvvvvvv annoying.

Send him a polite email telling him that he chose the 3 day delivery.
Apologise for not sending it out on Monday, but say that this only makes it a day late. If he wanted it quicker, explain he should have opted for the 1 day service.

End the email saying that you hope he enjoys the product and you will wait to hear from him before you leave him feedback.

He can't really give you negative feedback if it's only one day late.

Ebay seems to invite the worlds weirdos and chancers. It's basically an online carboot sale and if you've ever been to one of those you'll know the people who frequent them are very, very odd indeed.

The anonymity of ebay lets people ask(demand) for reduced prices, refunds and all sorts of extras that they just would never dream of asking for if they were dealing with someone face to face in a shop.

See I don't think it's late. I always say I will despatch within 2 business days of cleared payment. He's being annoying - if he wanted it done quicker he should have paid immediately or sent a message saying he'd like it sent ASAP, like one lovely lady did for me last week.

I think the thing is, over here especially, it's all a bit new for them...they haven't quite "got" yet that most of us are just getting rid of a bit of tat top quality but unwanted produce...and that's right, he could have paid Friday pm when the auction finished, but he waited till Sunday....
He's also in Sardinia which might add an extra day onto the postage time in any case.
Only other big prob I ever had was some woman in Sardinia who won a pair of trainers and then said I'd lied about the size because she'd only read the UK size not the Italian one.
Oh well, we shall see.
I think he's watching my other Thomas set as well, so I might go and alter the postage options so he can only have the 1 day one.

nod. ebay is freak central as far as I can tell. Very handy for getting rid of crap or sometimes finding bargains, but you have to tolerate a lot of loons at the same time.
