buying a watch on ebay - yes or no?

Thinking of getting dh a watch for his b'day but can't afford a new one. Would I be crazy to buy one on ebay? I'm worried about getting ripped off & ending up with a piece of junk or an illegal copy or something.

Have you tried looking in the second-hand window of local jewellers? You can get some really nice stuff there for reasonable money.
