Is there any way to get people to actually START bidding on things??

The last couple of things I've tried to sell, I've had loads of watchers but no bids at all. Shall I just give up and freecycle stuff or is there some way of getting things going I don't know about?

Get a mate to put in a bid?

I start mine at 99p, and relist once. After that it's off to the charity shop.
