Selling my car. Only one category allowed. Classic or not?

I have a 1985 BMW 3 series to sell. It could be lovely if bought by an enthusiast, but it's only a 316 so not really a collectors car.

Ebay will only let me put it in one category so I don't know whether to put it in cars or classic cars.

Any help appreciated.

My gut feeling is just "cars".

Classic brings up a different image fo rme, something much older.

does it have to be 25 years or older to be classic?

or is that vintage?

Spidermama · 10/09/2009 17:34

I'm not sure. It'll be 25 years old next year but it's a bit of a banger. Great engine though.

are there any others in the completed section? See which category achieved the most interest

Spidermama · 10/09/2009 18:22

There are quite a few in both sections but none exactly like mine.

Wouldn't an enthusiast search more thoroughly than just in one category, it might not matter too much which one you put it in if they are looking for an 85 3-series in particular....?

True Madre. It has 4 watchers now so I'll stick in the ol' bangers category. I can't help thinking the classic category is for looked after cars with no peeling laquer and smashed wing mirrors.

"I can't help thinking the classic category is for looked after cars with no peeling laquer and smashed wing mirrors".

-not necessarily. Until recently I had an old '72 Beetle which was road tax exempt as it was classed as a "Classic Car" but believe me it wasn't immaculate.
