I bought a ds for my dd, to put away for xmas.

it's here

cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200364759901&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2F%3 Ffrom%3DR40%26trksid%3Dp3907.m38.l1313%26nkw%3D200364759901%26sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26fvi% 3D1&rdc=1

ok.

The actual item is really grubby. with crumbs, bits all under the edges/round the sides. There is a scratch on the screen, and another bit of plastic (apart for the hinge bit as shown) is cracked.

I emailed the seller saying the above and asked for a refund.

The reply is this

'Item was decribed as good working condition, and the photo showed the ds clearly. therefore i will not be giving a refund.'

So I replied

'yes, it does work, but the photo does not show the things I have pointed out, and they weren't desribed in the description.'

no reply so far.

I'm fucked aren't i. Like i really had that money to spare. What can I do now.

If you have a refund you should return, you can get his details from ebay as you have a transaction with him.

Otherwise email him and explain that paypal have organised a refund so could he provide his address so you can return the item.

ipiratethief · 31/07/2009 15:56

okay, will email him. thanks

i think the seller must of agreed to a refund as paypal dont usual work that fast!

3cutedarlings · 31/07/2009 20:40

at some point paypal will tell you to send it back (dont send it until they do btw), just keep an eye on the dispute.

KingCanuteIAm · 31/07/2009 21:06

3cute, mine never did, although I did send it back obviously, I was never directed to by paypal. (It wasn't a ds though)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it's fraud to pay for insurance on something that's already broken then claim for the damage in order to get something new. You wouldn't do this on your household insurance. It's fraud!! Don't do this.

ipiratethief · 31/07/2009 23:17

paypal said the money will be in my account within next 3 days, and gave me phone number if they could be of any more help.

all seems very weird, and far to simple.

Fluffy, it was Gamestation who advised me to do this, so of course I did! It was they who sold me the insurance and there and then gave me a new DS!They said some clause allows them to do it so doubt its fraud when the shop staff were the ones to explain it to me!!
