Buyer is asking me to combine postage...

and although I'm quite happy to, I don't know how! I've never sold two items to the same buyer before so it's never been a problem. Can someone tell me how to do it?

It depends if you charge over the odds for postage really. If thats the case you just give a discount. If like me you just post at cost, you can't really combine postage and give a discount otherwise you would be out of pocket.

Just weigh them on your kitchen scales, add the figures together and look on chart available from post office.

Or put the weight here I am looking at my chart next to the pc

Well if one item P&P is £2 for example, could be £1 for padded envelope and £1 for posting.
2 items the same would be less for envelope as you'd put them both in one envelope and less for postage too - you can look on Royal Mail website to work out how much it costs to post different weights (put them in envelope before weighing"!)

Thanks everyone. I need to weigh them I think, as I'm only charging £1 per item (they're v. small). How does it work with PayPal? Do I just email buyer and he pays a bit less for one of them?

Hi unless they are flat enough to go as large letter (under 1cm thick) then you were undercharging for postage at £1 each.

large letter 200g 1st 90p, 2nd 76p.

packet 100-250g 1st £1.62 and 2nd £1.41.

For 100g each packets would be £1.28 or £1.08!

I'd just knock 20p off - I think you do it on the invoice and then click on recalculate. Mind you come to think of it I don't know how to do it either, I recently refunded someone £1 via paypal cos I couldn't work out how to reduce the p&p on the invoice

You can get a list at the post office, its called 'pricing made easy'.

Don't use the website as you have to type in the weight and then IT gives YOU the price and type of posting, I like to browse the leaflet for the cheapest options so my postage is cheap.
