Help needed, I don't want to be unreasonable...

Basically, I sold a dog guard that came out of my car before I sold it. I photographed it and just wrote dog guard from car. It turns out that after sending it (£10.50 postage) there are two small brackets missing.

I had no idea and must have left them in the car. Buyer has contacted me wanting full refund and for me to pick it up (he doesn't live far but was too busy to collect so paid postage!)

I said shall we contact car manufacturer to see if we can buy the brackets. He didn't reply for three weeks so I assumed he had got them. I have now had an e-mail saying he wants full refund and full postage and for me to pick it up and he has reported me to ebay.

What do you think? Am I in trouble?

Would you refund postage or hold out and just refund the actual cost? We are off on holiday on Friday so couldn't be worse timing. I am going to call car garage myself just to check these brackets are not easy to buy.
