sending to non paypal adress

I have just had an auction end and the winner who has only 2 feedback, has asked me to send it to her boyfriend instead of to her adress, as it is a christmas present. Am I right in thinking that that would mean that I wouldn't have any cover through paypal? It'll be sent by recorded delivery so there will proof of delivery. Does anyone have any advice?

Yes if you send to an address that is not the Paypal address you are not covered even if it is sent recorded.

In order to be covered you must send to the address given on Paypal

Thanks MrsMagoo, I will take your advice. I messaged the buyer back saying that we would both be without cover, haven't heard back yet but I'll stick to my guns on this.

You really must - it's just not worth the risk faaaaar to many scammers on Ebay nowadays

I would be a little sus.....will she not be seeing her her boyfriend over Xmas to give him to herself you know?

I know I'm a bit late here but the buyer can add an address in paypal so you are both still covered if she wants it sending somewhere other than her house.
