I sold some football boots on ebay earlier this week. Detailed as having the "key for unscrewing studs" included.

I've just gone to package them up and I cannot find the bloody key anywhere. It WAS inside one of the boots but the kids must have taken it out.

He's already paid. Do I email him and tell him I can't find the key and offer a refund? Am I likely to get negative feedback for this?

if you tell him and offer full no quibbles refund or partial refund if hexwants boots minus it then feedback should be ok

Explain, apologise and offer the options of either a full refund or a reduction of £x because you can't find the key.

Thing is, he got them for 99p so to knock it down any further would make it a bit pointless in me sending them at all.

I email & explain & ask if he wishes to continue with the sale or have a full refund

I've emailed him and he's not replied 'sigh' ebay is such a faff

The keys are easy to get hold of. They probably have spares in your local sports shop. Are they star shaped? I've probably got one I can send to you.

Ho ho ho!
