I think I caught somebody shill bidding

I wanted to bid on something but it had very high postage costs quoted.
I emailed and asked if I could arrange my own courier and would only bid if that was agreed.
They agreed so I put a bid in.

Then someone else bid up to my highest bid and slightly over and then stopped. I checked that persons bids and they only ever bid on this one sellers items!
I didnt up my bid and I didnt win the item.

It just ended and I immediately got a 2nd chance offer

I have reported them to ebay and I sent a response to the seller saying that I dont want the 2nd chance offer but I will accept a 2nd chance offer of the amount I bidded BEFORE this shill bidder started bidding which was a lot less!

I had this happen - kept getting overbid so left it (had already bid way too high) as soon as it ended, got a 2nd chance offer. [mug]

You did the right thing reporting it. Wether Ebay do anything though, is a different matter

I never accept 2nd chance offers, as i can never be sure if its a shill-bidding scam or not.

The only time I accept a 2nd chance offer is when it's a shop & they have more then 1 of the item IYKWIM??
