Advice on most 'efficient' way to ebay??

I have LOADS of stuff to eBay which I've been putting off, as it always seem to take so long - all the photos/ itemising/ listing/ weighing/ checking postage etc

But I need to get on with it, as I suspect people will start buying for Christmas now.

Just wondered if anyone has any tips for super efficiency e.g. do you do all the photos at once, or write up the descriptions in Word first or something.

I have downloaded Turbolister, but I'm not sure if that will help??

ok - i'm about to do the same. I have tried turbo lister (and other similar programmes) but didn't really get on with them so what I do now is (and what I'll be doing today)

1. Take photos of all the items I want to sell
2. As I take each photo jot down a short description/any key details (damage, brand, size, colour etc)
3. Upload my photos onto my computer for easy access (if I'm just doing one or two I'll upload to ebay direct from my camera)
4. Start listing - using the photos on my computer, and the notes I'll have already made.

(Now this is the plan today - will let you know later tonight whether it worked or not )

oh and postage - well I've always been crap at that - I usually just do an ebay search for similar items and use the average postage price

Turbo lister is your friend
set up a template within TL with all the info you have on each listing - eg. any questions please ask prior to bidding etc.
Set up the preferences and anything else that will apply to all listings.

Get your camera, take photos, edit photos and save them all in a folder.
Create a folder in TL and start listing everything.
Get the scales out and work out postage via the RM website.
When you are done and you have worked out when you want to list eg. Thursday evening for 10 days for a Sunday evening finish - wait until Thursday, add to upload, calculate fees and then upload to ebay.

FAQ - I am also crap about postage - I weight things before they're packed and then end up adding another 50p of box or something

I have loads of toys (e.g. Thomas the Tank, Bob the Builder etc) - do you think people would buy 'bundles' of similar age stuff - I really can't imgaine I'm going to have time to list them all individually....

I always seem to my postage balances out - so I may make a 50p "loss" on one thing, but then 50p less on another

I use Ebay for part of my business, so have to upload quite a few items at a time onto it.

This is what I do:

Take pictures of all items up for sale and upload to a file on my pc especially for ebay.
I type oot the descriptions on wordpad and save into the same folder.
postage for my items is generally the same , but if not then weigh each item and work out postage.
Decide when your going to list, then on that day all you have to do is upload the photos and then copy and paste the description into the box.

Even doing it like this takes time though.

Write listings in 1 hour batches straight onto turbolister

Guess the postage don't bother to weigh stuff

Only sell to the UK - faffing around with international mail is a pita and v time consuming.

Arrange the same end time for all your auctions to minimise trips to the post office to post

Get in supplies of posting certificates/recorded delivery forms etc from the PO

Order your packaging from ebay when you do the listings.

I spent more time faffing around with turbo lister than posting direct on ebay
