Oh stop being weird!! Why has someone bid more for my item than it's worth in a shop?

Should I be concerned they're going to dick me around?

They already asked if they could pay by a post dated cheque for the end of the month and even though I specified paypal only I said yes they could bid only if they accepted that I would wait til it had cleared (10 days) and that i would only send it recorded delivery to their name and address registered with ebay.

With one day to go it's one pound more than you can buy it in a shop.

What could possibly go wrong?

they'll get hold of it and demand a refund.

Lauriefairycake · 23/08/2008 18:02

which I don't need to give them right?

MsPontipine · 23/08/2008 18:06

What is it?????

expatinscotland · 23/08/2008 18:07

no, you don't. especially if they pay by cheque.

they can give you negative feedback, but a lot of folks don't care about one or two of those anymore.

cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300251029928&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=020

it's this one

paddingtonbear1 · 23/08/2008 18:45

maybe they don't know how much it is in the shops?
Not sure though, if it were me I would check first probably.
I'd be a bit suspicious tbh - but as expat says, you don't have to give a refund.

Your link doesnt work. Strangly if you c+p it to the address bar it does work, but not if you click on it.

I think that some people dont know how much things cost in certain shops. I quite freqently see stuff from Next going for more than it is in the shops.

If you get cleared payment and then send it tracked to registered address then I would think you were safe.

twinsetandpearls · 23/08/2008 18:51

that didn't work either.

goingslowlymad · 23/08/2008 18:51

try this?

paddingtonbear1 · 23/08/2008 18:52

It doesn't work yet, but I got it anyway from the 1st link by deleting the mumsnet bit and just leaving it with cgi.. etc

eandh · 23/08/2008 18:52

maybe this time?

paddingtonbear1 · 23/08/2008 18:53

goingslowlymad's link works!

eandh · 23/08/2008 18:53

they buy a lot of perfume or aftershave.

chapstickchick · 23/08/2008 18:56

i cant see what it is by your link it just takes me to the topic list.

i had this with a pair of linen trousers they were £15 new in matalan and someone bid for ones id worn over £14 i emailed them to say they werent new and was she aware - turned out shed bought a matching jacket with a similar pair of trousers and found them very comfy and went back for more to find they had none so she was willing to pay that for mine.
