I sold a ds and 7 games on ebay, some of the games barely played...more brain training being one of them...it was brand new, she won the lot for 107 a total bargain imo....anyway she asked if i cud post early as it was a present...I could not but I found nintendogs and said I would throw it in for free as an apoplogy even though it was posted 3 days from close of bidding so was not my fault anyway!
So she emails me saying 3 of the games dont work and she wants £30 refund!....I told her to send the games back and I will test them and see if they are broken but I think £15 is more reasonable...i KNOW the games work and think she is taking me for a ride, which wont work....is it just me or is £30 waaaaay to much to ask....I want to tell her to shove it...but I don't want bad feedback and ebay is just irritating me as a sellar. I feel v open and vulnerable to this buyer as she has all the protection of ebay. Advice? Ps i have been very nice to her thus far...i even told her to return the entire bundle if she is unhappy and I will relist it and refund (which will take a week or two money wise).....grrr vent over....

She needs to return then so that you can check from the UV marking that you made prior to the sale that the games you have back are the ones you sold her, and then you can test the games, and you will return to nintendo if they arent working.
When you get all YOUR games and DS back then she will get refund.

uv marking?

Yes, obviously before you sell any generic item like this you mark it secretly, as otherwise anyone with a broken one can buy yours on ebay and return their broken one to you and then get a refund.

If you didnt mark it before it went out, then say you did anyway, and then if she is trying to scam you in that way it will put her off.

wow, it would have never occurred to me to mark stuff you sell like that, what a brilliant idea. i don't think it's paranoid at all, you've got to protect yourself otherwise, like you said, it's an easy way for someone with a broken game cartridge to swap theirs for a working one at someone else's expense

get this ladies....I told the buyer I marked all expensive things I sold with a UV mark. She has agreed to return the 3 broken games for a £20 refund nto the original £30 she asked for...still think she is a cheeky so and so....BUT she asked what the mark was "incase teh games get stolen and {she} needs to inform the police"!!!!in other words if you tell me i can say i posted the games, they get "stolen" but I still get a refund.....I dont think so....she can leave neg feedback if they dont turn up on my doorstep...i think she will have kept them, knowing full well they work and still demand a refund claiming its not her fault they got lost!...watch this space....some buyers are cheeky gits!!!!

she needs to send them recorded then if she expects a refund!

tell her recorded delivery or no returns
just say "obviuosly you understand i must protect myself"

might want to mark the "broken" games with her own uv pen!!
