What happens once an offer expires on ebay? Does it become a bid?

I made an offer on an item on Monday, thinking (as Chat GPT told me) that if it wasn't accepted then it would expire after 4 days.

Because of this I didn't think that making an offer is the same as placing a bid. I made an offer because it will be too late for the item to reach me in time if I won the auction when it ends on Monday. The auction is currently showing me as the highest bidder.

What will happen tomorrow? The seller hasn't accepted my offer. Does my offer get withdrawn or does it stand as a bid and if no one else bids I will win it on Monday?

if its showing as someones bidded then it wipes out the offers, i know this because ive used it to take out the offer option

It sounds like you accidentally made a bid. Offers are totally separate to auction bids. If you contact ebay customer support you might get the bid cancelled. People bidding on items tend not to place bids until near the end of the auction though so there is still time for someone to outbid you.

I honestly didn't make a bid, just an offer - I'm as confused as you are!

then id make another bid just slightly higher than the one you or ebay thinks you made then it will confirm it
