Need some advice on this bidder - dodgy or not?

I have an item on ebay and someone messaged me yesterday saying "Can I buy it now for £15-£20 call me asap on *** URGENT!!!"

I didn't respond as I didn't see it until late last night and haven't had time today.

Just been on my ebay listings and they have put in a bid for £20 and then about 30 seconds later put in a bid for £26 (no-one else had outbid their last one) - Why would they do that?

They only registered on ebay yesterday and have no feedback.

not sure what you mean maybe they upped there highest bid i do it all the time put in one amount then add another

everyone starts somewhere so wouldnt nessassarily persume they are dodgy they may have joined after the particular item you are selling give benefit of the doubt we were all new on e bay once

what is it your selling that they may need urgently they may have asked for bin as they are after it asap

i have done this many times too needed in few days listing would end in 4 need it before then

Oh it's a swing chair. Think I'm being overly paranoid but then I've just been messed around on my last two listings so am bit peed off with ebay.

How do you know that they upped the bid - I thought that if you were the high bidder and you upped your potential bid then you would be the only on who knew, with the amount only going up if it was a reserve auction or if there was a higher bid?

TBH though I would be suspicious about this buyer. People who want to be phoned about this sort of thing do make me suspicious.

But why would the bid have gone up if they werent bidding against someone?
Probably they initially put in a higher bid but only £20 showed, then someone else made a bid for £25, leaving them the leading bidder at £26.
That said, i would still be suspicious.

Ah I've looked at it properly. Someone else put in a bid of £25 then for some reason they also bid £25 (prob a mistake) so they then put in £26.

don't ring them though, they might be weirdos.

they probably really want item for there baby and asked if you'd call to set up a bin i have done this with expectant people before

i also when pregnant asked someone to do same as really wanted item

if they win you can offer to other people who bid also second chance offer if they dont pay so either way you will still get money for item

i would think they are expecting and really want the item

you dont ned to call now anyway as they already bidding on it they only wanted the call before to do bin
